Refund & Cancellation Policy
Understanding our refund and cancellation terms for event bookings and ticket purchases.
Important Notice
Please read this policy carefully before making a booking. All sales are final and non-refundable except in specific circumstances outlined below. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
1. General Refund Policy
Tamil Australia operates as a marketplace platform connecting event organizers with attendees. All event bookings and ticket sales are final and non-refundable unless the event organizer specifically allows refunds or the event is cancelled.
Key Points:
- ✗No refunds for change of mind or inability to attend
- ✗No refunds for personal scheduling conflicts
- ✗No refunds for weather conditions (unless event cancelled)
- ✓Refunds may be issued if event is cancelled by organizer
- ✓Refunds may be issued at organizer's discretion for special circumstances
2. Event Cancellation by Organizer
If an event is cancelled by the organizer for any reason:
Full Refund Eligible
You will receive a full refund of your ticket price, including all booking fees and service charges.
Processing Time
Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days to your original payment method.
You will be notified via email immediately if an event is cancelled. The refund will be automatically initiated and you do not need to take any action.
3. Event Postponement or Rescheduling
If an event is postponed or rescheduled to a new date:
- 1Your ticket remains valid for the new date automatically
- 2Refund eligibility depends on the event organizer's specific policy
- 3Contact the organizer if you cannot attend the rescheduled date
Note on Rescheduled Events:
Refunds for rescheduled events are not automatic. You must contact the event organizer or our support team to request a refund. Approval is at the organizer's discretion.
4. Customer-Initiated Cancellations
No Refunds for Customer Cancellations
Once a booking is confirmed and payment is completed, you cannot cancel your booking for a refund. All sales are final.
This policy applies to:
- •Change of mind after purchase
- •Personal scheduling conflicts or emergencies
- •Travel issues or transportation problems
- •Weather conditions (unless event is officially cancelled)
- •Illness or health issues
- •Duplicate purchases or booking errors
- •No-shows (failure to attend)
5. Special Circumstances & Exceptions
In exceptional circumstances, refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the event organizer and Tamil Australia:
Medical Emergency
Serious medical conditions with supporting documentation may be reviewed
Bereavement
Death in immediate family with supporting documentation
Platform Error
Technical errors or system failures that affected your booking
To Request a Special Circumstance Refund:
- 1. Contact us at events@tamilaustralia.com.au within 48 hours of the incident
- 2. Provide your booking reference number
- 3. Include supporting documentation (medical certificates, death certificates, etc.)
- 4. Explain your circumstances in detail
Note: Approval is not guaranteed and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Decisions are final.
6. Refund Processing & Timeline
When a refund is approved:
Refund Method
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for purchase (credit card, debit card, etc.)
Processing Time
5-10 business days from approval date. Your bank may take additional 2-5 business days to process
Refund Amount
For organizer-cancelled events: 100% full refund including all fees
For approved special circumstances: Amount determined case-by-case
Important Note on Refund Timing:
The refund timeline begins from the date we process the refund, not from the date of your request. Bank processing times vary and are outside our control. Please check with your financial institution if you haven't received your refund after the stated timeframe.
7. No Partial or Individual Ticket Refunds
Important Policy:
We do not offer partial refunds or individual ticket refunds for multi-ticket bookings (such as Family Packs with 4 tickets - 2 Adults + 2 Children). If a refund is approved, it applies to the entire booking only.
Example: If you purchased a Family Pack with 4 tickets and only 2 people can attend, you cannot receive a refund for the unused 2 tickets. The booking must be refunded in full or not at all.
This policy exists because:
- •Event capacity and ticketing logistics
- •Bundle pricing structures (discounted multi-ticket packs)
- •Administrative complexity and fairness to other attendees
8. Service Fees & Payment Processing Fees
All bookings on Tamil Australia include:
Platform Service Fee
$0.80 per ticket for platform maintenance and support
✓ Included in full refunds for cancelled events
Payment Processing Fee
Stripe payment processing fees (varies)
✓ Included in full refunds for cancelled events
When full refunds are issued (event cancellation by organizer): You will receive 100% of your payment back, including ticket price, service fees, and payment processing fees.

10. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Important: The policy in effect at the time of your booking applies to that specific transaction.
